The honeymoon’s coming to an end. People are finally starting to wake up and wonder when the campaigning and promises will actually stop and the action to follow up those promises will start. The media has always been perceived as lapdogs of the liberal politicians and here’s why. Conservatives support the status quo. But the status quo leads to complacency and stagnation. So it’s the job of the media to challenge the status quo. (In dictatorships, the media supports the status quo, or ELSE!) Since liberals are defined as challenging the status quo, the media sees them as social compatriots.
Note that this is a generalization and does not stand up in every case, only a description of how generalization leads to perception.

Challenging questions like "What magazines do you read?". That stumped the VP candidate from the GOP fairly easily. That was a softball question lobbed across the plate, and still she couldn’t handle it.
I don’t remember any of the "liberal" media asking Cheney how drunk he was when he shot a friend in the face, or how much stock Bush owned from Haliburton. How come no one asked why Bush sat on his butt instead of doing something during 9/11? Or are those questions to challenging?
I’m guessing you only care when the other side is doing well. It’s okay, everyone likes to root for their team and only cries foul when they get hosed.
