Is 41 mile (53 minutes) away too far from Atlanta?
As I am planning to buy a new house in Villa Rica, what are the pros/cons of living there?
Villa Rica is now Villa Atlanta. We lived there for 5 years before buying a house up in north Bartow Co. It is growing so fast down there that Atlanta has taken over. Adairsville is 48 miles north of Atlanta and we love it here. But if you are looking for a very growing progressive area, then Villa Rica is growing as fast as anywhere. The commute is growing worse daily there.
Too far for what?

Are u going to be work in in Atlanta? If so I would strongly recommend that u move closer. There’s other cities that are great for living. Do u have children?

Traffic, believe me you’ll regret it.

Are you talking about commuting to and from work? It depends, my mom lives here in the same town I do and she works 42 miles away, now since she lives by herself she doesn’t need to be home by a decent time to take care of anyone, but with the gas prices now a days it does take a chunk out of her wallet in gas!!! I say it’s all up to you, what your lifestyle is like, how many hours you work a week and so forth!!

All told, Villa Rica to Atlanta is not a bad commute. I-20 on the West side of the city has moderate traffic, and Villa Ricca /Douglasville area has some great home values.

personal experience
I live 88 miles northeast of Hartsfield Airport, takes me about an hour and 15 minutes, so no, 41 miles is not too far away. A co-worker couple live in Dallas, about an hour away from the airport, as well.

I work 20 miles from work. Sometimes it takes me 30 minutes to get there, other days it takes me 1.5 hours or more. It may be doable in the summer when traffic is lighter, but after school starts it will be a nightmare.
